PARENTAL CARE NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL BUSHENYI, KING’S COLLEGE BUDDO SHINE IN 2025 SPEECH AND DEBATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

Parental Care Nursery and Primary School Bushenyi emerged winner of NJSDC 2025 that took place at King’s College Buddo from 7th to 12th December 2025. This year’s competition was the 5th under junior category and the 13th under senior category.

King’s College Buddo which missed participating in last year’s competition emerged winners after overcoming a tight contest with Mbarara High School aka CHAAPA. Parental Care has won this trophy for the 3rd time in a row with Ashaba Isaiah (Parental Care Nursery and Primary School Bushenyi) being named the overall best debater for the second time in a row and Asingwire Joy Precious also from Parental Care Nursery and Primary School Bushenyi as the best female debater. The best championship speakers were also recognized and awarded with Ashaba Isaiah, Asingwire Joy Precious and Ninkusiima Leah all of Parental Care Nursery and Primary School Bushenyi scooping Gold, Silver and Bronze respectively. Parental Care Nursery and Primary School defended it’s trophy after overcoming KY Board Primary School from Maska City in a hotly contested final. The crowning ceremony which attracted Dr. Patricia Achan -Okiria, the Deputy IGG of Uganda as it’s Chief Guest was labeled the most successful. The Executive Director, National Debate Council (NDC), Mr. Gasta Kakaire appreciated King’s College Buddo for accepting to host this year’s competition. The C.E.O also appreciated Parental Care Nursery and Primary School Bushenyi for being consistent in participating and winning as well. “This is all hard work”, he said. This year’s championship was ran under the theme “My Education, My Environment, My Ethics”. The senior category motion that saw King’s College Buddo emerge champions of this year’s championship was, “The Olweela swamp has continued to collapse, a Chinese investor who intends to hire it for rice growing has proposed to the government of Uganda that he will construct the swamp permanently if it takes full ownership. Debate the consequences of this development” while that of junior category was, “A leader with ideas and a leader with money, who makes good leadership in a school set up?”.

Also, Parental Care Nursery and Primary School Bushenyi won the Junior Poetry category with Beran Akandwanaho’s “When God created Uganda” poem emerging the best.

Parental Care Nursery and Primary School Bushenyi further broke the barriers after producing five out of the ten best speakers at this year’s championship with Ashaba Isaiah, Asingwire Joy Precious and Ninkusiima Leah claiming Gold, Silver and Bronze respectively while Ainembabazi Angel Tracy coming in the fifth position and Kukunda Tracy in the seventh position.

It should be remembered that Parental Care Nursery and Primary School Bushenyi are Africa’s reigning debate champions after overcoming Munroe Primary School from Zimbabwe at a final that took place recently in Kigali Rwanda and are due to represent Africa in the intercontinental debate competitions slated to take place in Canada next year.
