PARENTAL CARE NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL BUSHENYI FLAGGED OFF TO REPRESENT UGANDA AT PAN AFRICA JUNIOR DEBATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN KIGALI RWANDA.

Parental Care Nursery and Primary School Bushenyi was flagged off to go and represent Uganda at the Pan Africa Junior Debate Championship due to take place in Kigali Rwanda from 21st to 24th November 2025.
The flagging off that took place at Tuzza Hotel in Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality on the evening of Thursday 20th November, 2025 was overseen by the District speaker for Bushenyi Hon. Douglas Mucunguzi in the witness of senior Civil rights activist Mr. Apollo Lee Kakonge.
Uganda will be represented by a team of ten debaters all from Parental Care Nursery and Primary School Bushenyi. The team leader, Nabibasa Blessed (P.6) assured the team that witnessed the flagging off that they are sure of winning this championship given the confidence, coaching and exposure they have had over time.
Tr. Bright, the school debate team coach is optimistic that his team will give the best since it’s not the first time they are getting on the same stage with these countries.
The championship will attract debating teams from Kenya, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Rwanda, Nigeria, Zambia, Lesotho, Uganda among other African countries.
In his words, Mr. Apollo Lee Kakonge asked the team to remain calm, confident and focused to conquer the championship. He encouraged the learners to seize every opportunity availed to them by Parental Care Nursery and Primary School Bushenyi especially debates because such opportunities have become a source of livelihood to many. “So many people do earn a living through speaking”, he said.
Lee asking the team to develop a heart like that of an eagle while in Rwanda. He told the team that an eagle is never limited by the sky when soaring, it instead soars above the sky.

The debating team
Hon. Douglas Mucunguzi appreciated Parental Care Nursery and Primary School Bushenyi Debating team for living their future today through their speeches and mode of debating.
“Many of us currently can’t speak what you speak through your debates yet it’s what we are supposed to speak”, he said.
The district speaker appreciated Parental Care Nursery and Primary School Bushenyi management for exposing it’s pupils beyond classroom walls.
He wished the team nothing but the best while in Rwanda as they aim at making Uganda, their Parents, themselves and the school proud.
